Oak Island Money Pit Mystery
I'm curious if anyone believes the legends surrounding the mystery? That the treasure won't be found until seven people have died? Or until there aren't any Oak trees left on the island.. Where did these myths come from anyways? Is it just people making things up to help them feel like they're getting close? Or was there an actual reason to it? But I think definately it was too much work for someone playing a practical joke.. It would have taken way too long to dig that, especially back then when they didn't have the technology we have now.. to dig all of those flood tunnels for the sake of a joke? especially since they wouldn't even be alive to laugh at whoever spent so much time digging it up.. It doesn't make sense.. Whatever is down there is pretty valuble in one way or another.

hmmm..very good questions...i agree with you that it can't be a pratical joke...it just doesn't make sense that someone would do all of that for nothing...they have to be protecting something important...
Excavations are set to begin later this year, but I hope we won't end up with the seventh man on our hands -

There are oak trees still on Oak Island, but these are not the original variety which served as the island's namesake. These are long gone, but there have been rhumours of saplings appearing.
We've been working at Oak Island Treasure to try and track down possible Latin variety names and locate the trees elsewhere in the world, thinking that may hold a clue to the pit's originators. You can read more on the forum - http://forum.oakislandtreasure.co.uk
I believe there has to be something down there. As you pointed out it is to much work to be a joke. I think we may have destroyed what was down there by drilling and buldozing the Island. I hope one day we can find out what it is.
so if the legends are true why not just kill a guy on the island.. oh thats seven
and then cut down the oak trees?
it might speed the process up
who are the "oak island treasures"?
nexus?
